Rowdy's Rocket Team's first competition Rocket

Colorado Space Grant Consortium Rocket Challenge

The Colorado Mesa Rocketry team competed in the first Colorado Space Grand Consortium challenge with the following criteria:
1. The rocket shall utilize at most an I-impulse motor
2. The rocket shall be stable at launch with acceptable launch velocity and angle
3. The rocket shall launch a payload of 2.5 lb to a target apogee of 2500 ft
4. The rocket shall have redundant apogee deployment
5. The rocket shall use an electronic dual deploy with main deployment between 500- 1000.’
6. The team shall submit a final report poster

Rowdy's Rocket Team completed the following:
1. The rocket utilized an Aerotech I175 motor
2. The rocket was stable at launch with acceptable launch velocity and angle
3. The rocket launched a 2.5 lb experimental payload, which measured downward force. Apogee was 2486 ft, only 0.56% off target.
4. The rocket used redundant apogee deployment
5. The rocket used electronic dual deployment, with main deployment at 656 ft.
6. The team presented a poster at the Colorado Mesa Student Showcase on Friday, May 1st, 2026.
